Does Stormpath Support UTF-8-Encoded Characters?

Yes, Stormpath supports creating accounts with UTF-8-encoded characters in the email address and password fields. Please note, however, that although end users are able to create accounts with international characters in various form fields, many SMTP servers (including Stormpath's default SMTP server) do not support sending emails to email addresses with UTF-8-encoded characters.

If you would like to be able to send emails to customers with international characters in their email address, you will need to enable Stormpath's custom SMTP server feature and connect to an SMTP server that supports UTF-8-encoded characters in email addresses.
